Pastel Bank Manager - NEW (Add-on module for Xpress and Partner)
One of the most exciting new modules in the 2009 software version, Pastel Bank Manager lets you download your bank statement into Pastel, and the system will then automatically update your books. It works with all major SA banks and maps the correct ledger accounts in your customers’ books, automating a necessary task.

Pastel Cash Manager – NEW (Add-on module for Partner)
Pastel Cash Manager is a debtor’s management system that is suitable for any business, in any industry, which seeks to optimise the debtor’s collection process. It generates automatic chase lists for follow up and eliminates the need for scribbled notes on the age analysis. It also provides instant reconciliations of invoices outstanding per ageing category per debtor; calculates actual days outstanding per invoice; monitors payment history and tracks all calls made to debtors and promises made. User Groups and User Access – NEW (Feature in Xpress and Partner)
Your customers can now improve security and prevent fraud in their businesses by restricting access to sensitive information, by user. Users can be categorised into groups, with certain access capabilities, but with the option to further personalise a particular user’s rights.
System Audit Trail – NEW (Feature in Xpress and Partner)
The System Audit Trail tightens the security of the overall system by tracking the date, time and user who makes any system set-up changes, such as allowing inventory quantities to fall below zero and renumbering customer or inventory codes. This feature promotes accountability, minimises mistakes and deters users from fraudulent behaviour.
Transaction Audit Trail – NEW (Feature in Xpress and Partner)
The Transaction Audit Trail provides a chronological sequence of transactions to help with data interrogation. This includes those “behind the scenes” postings and transactions and will simplify investigations into anomalies or queries.
Gross Profit Reports: Average Cost or Last Cost – ENHANCED (Feature in Xpress and Partner)
All reports displaying Gross Profit, such as Sales by Item or Sales by Customer, now have the option to use either average cost or last cost. This is very useful if your customers’ costs vary considerably.
Point of Sale – ENHANCED (Add-on module for Xpress and Partner)
Security in this module has been improved. For example, rights can be assigned to specific fields, determining which fields a user can change and, as a double protection, allow a particular user the right to change a field, but only if a supervisor password is entered.
Receipting – ENHANCED (Add-on module for Partner)
Receipt money against multiple customers, suppliers, or GL accounts, saving considerable time. For example, a school can now include school fees, books and school trips, all on a single receipt.
Online back-up integration – NEW (Feature in Xpress and Partner)
Tighter integration into Pastel IronTree’s online back-up solution means your customers can register for and launch online back-ups from within the new version of Pastel Accounting 2009.
